Metagenomic Thermometer
Provide MPT from metagenomic sequences
About this website
This website aims to easily calculate MPT from metagenomic data. You can freely upload your own metagenomic data on "Run job" page and obtain MPT.
About MPT (Metagenomic Predicted Temperature)
MPT stands for the predicted environmental temperature derived from metagenomic sequences. MPT closely aligns with the actual environmental temperature under the following conditions:
- Warm environments (approximately 20 degrees Celsius or higher).
- Environments with minimal influx of microorganisms from the external surroundings.
- Environments with minimal temperature fluctuations.
Metagenome Thermometer has practical applications such as:
- Predicting the deep body temperature from human gut metagenome.
- Identifying continuous influx of microorganisms from environments with different temperatures.
- Investigating the speed at which microbial communities respond to changes in environmental temperature.
